22 October 2021 | Carmen Cluster, BARMM Special Geographic Area – Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie, Minister of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) visits the beneficiaries of the Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro Program after the official launching of the flagship program at the Municipal Gymnasium of Carmen today.
One hundred twenty-three (123) households from Carmen cluster received their livelihood grants, rice subsidies, and educational subsidies for qualified college students.
MSSD is targeting to provide at least 23,829 poor households with improved well-being by December 2022. This is equivalent to approximately 5% of the total number of poor households, composed of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries who are graduating from the program due to lack of eligible children between 0-18 years old; and non-4Ps beneficiaries.
The target households that will be enrolled under the Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro were identified based on the poverty incidence of the area, and the results of the social welfare development indicators (SWDI) survey that determines the level of well-being of the respondent’s household.
The Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro households shall be case-managed by MSSD’s social workers and shall receive a set of interventions – skills training, livelihood seed capital, monthly rice subsidies of one 25 kg sack each, and medical assistance during emergencies – to ensure that these families move from survival to subsistence, and from subsistence to self-sufficiency levels.
Under MSSD’s Bangsamoro Sagip Kabuhayan and the Sustainable Livelihood Program, the Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro enrollees shall receive livelihood seed capital equivalent to PhP 15,000 each to assist in the household’s economic recovery and rehabilitation.
If the household has eligible college-level students, they may also qualify for the PhP 10,000 educational assistance under the Angat Bangsamoro: Kabataan Tungo sa Karunungan Program (ABK).
