COTABATO CITY โ As of today, a total of 424 indigents in Cotabato City received livelihood assistance worth Php 15, 000 each through the Bangsamoro Sagip Kabuhayan (BSK) Program of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) in the barangays of Poblacion 7, Rosary Heights 1, Rosary Heights 6, and Rosary Heights 7.
The releasing of livelihood capital officially commenced yesterday, November 11, 2021 during the BSK programโs launching at Datu Siang Central School in Brgy. Poblacion 7.
The launching ceremony also symbolically indicated the start of the regular implementation of MSSD social protection programs in the city.
MSSD targets to provide livelihood assistance to 1,018 individuals who belong to poor, vulnerable, and marginalized sectors which include out of school youth (OSY), solo-parents, Women in Especially Difficult Circumstances (WEDCs), and heads of poor households whose meager income were exacerbated by the pandemic and lockdowns.
Out of the total number of livelihood beneficiaries in the city who already received their grants, 103 were from Poblacion 7, 76 were from Rosary Heights,118 were from Rosary Heights 7, and 127 were from Rosary Heights 6.
MSSD deployed its field social workers in the city who conducted house-to-house validation to ensure the selection of the most eligible beneficiaries.

Prior to BSK programโs launch, there have already been several distributions of relief assistance, provision of Cash-For-Work subsidies to informal workers, as well as free medicines and hospital assistance that have been made available to the residents of the city.
Moving forward, MSSD will also start to implement the Angat Bangsamorong Kabatan: Tungo sa Karunungan (ABK) Program which seeks to provide educational assistance to students who belong to highly disadvantaged families in the city in the upcoming weeks.
