DAVAO CITY โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development, through Minister Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie, joined the multi-stakeholders policy forum for Supporting Conflict Transformation Towards Efficient Peacebuilding (STEP) project in BARMM conducted here from 13-14 December 2022.
The STEP-BARMM is a joint project of International Organization for Migration (IOM), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA Philippines) and UN Women, with support from the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund. It supports the peacebuilding agenda in BARMM through encouraging the community to engage in the peacebuilding efforts, promoting gender-responsive, inclusive, and culturally-sensitive legislation, policies and programs, and supporting communities affected by conflicts through sustainable socio-economic activities, and inclusive community-based reconciliation mechanisms.
Present during the program were IOM Chief of Mission Tristan Burnett, UN Resident Coordinator Gustavo Gonzales , UNFPA Country Representative Leila Joudanekey, key officials from partner organizations, community representatives, and ministries in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
