The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) carried out a monitoring visit to recently established Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities in the municipalities of Kabuntalan and Pagalungan on August 24, 2023.
As an integral component of the Ministry’s comprehensive disaster prevention and response mechanisms, several WASH facilities have been constructed in flood-prone areas of the Bangsamoro region. Engr. Alijamel B. Angeles reported that these new WASH facilities encompass restrooms and water pumps strategically located near potential evacuation sites, such as child development centers, madrasahs, and covered courts.
The residents of barangays Ganta and Poblacion in Kabuntalan, Maguindanao del Norte, as well as barangays Poblacion, Kalbugan, Buliok, Layog, Inug-ug, Kudal, and Damalasak in Pagalungan, Maguindanao del Sur, will be direct beneficiaries of these recently completed projects.
