MADALUM, LANAO DEL SUR โ Earlier today, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) through its Lanao del Sur B Provincial Office conducted a simultaneous payout for the beneficiaries of its various social protection programs in the municipalities of Madalum, Bacolod Kalawi, Madamba, Ganassi, Pualas, and Pagayawan, Lanao del Sur.
A total of 291 small business owners individually received PhP 15,000 livelihood assistance grants under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
For the Kupkop Program, sixty (60) indigent orphans were also given PHP 5, 000 each as a one-time financial subsidy.
Under the Angat Bangsamoro: Kabataan tungo sa Karunungan (ABaKa) Program which is the educational assistance program of MSSD, 16 college students received PHP 10, 000 each, 41 high school students received PHP 3, 000 each, and 21 elementary students received 2,000 each.
In her message. MSSD Minister Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie reiterated that with the BARMM governmentโs current capacity and fiscal autonomy paved the way for the creation and implementation of the said programs.
โBahagi po ang lahat ng ito ng isang bagong social welfare agency. Nung 2019, nung magpalit ng administration, nagkaroon po tayo ng isang entity at isang bagong gobyerno na kakaiba po ang kapangyarihan. Mas malakas at mas maraming resources na ang available sa atin. At ngayon, natatamasa po natin ang ibaโt ibang programa ng MSSD na iba sa meron noon (These are all part of a new social welfare agency. Last 2019, when we transitioned to a new administration, we have a new entity, a new government that has a different power. We have a stronger and larger number of resources that are available. And now, we are reaping these different programs that are different from before),โ said Minister Jajurie.
Meanwhile, the simultaneous payouts will resume tomorrow for the other remaining 14 municipalities under the operational jurisdiction of the MSSD Lanao del Sur B Provincial Office. These payouts are expected to be completed on Sunday, September 11.
