COTABATO CITY โ MSSD distributed the educational assistance to the first batch of qualified indigent college students under the Angat Bangsamoro: Kabataan tungo sa Karunungan (ABaKa) Program. Minister Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie led the ceremonial distribution at the MSSD Regional Office earlier.
A total of 189 college students from different barangays in this city received the one-time financial assistance of PhP 10,000 each after qualifying for the program.
Prior to the payout, all the ABaKa applicantsโ documents have undergone validation and evaluation by the designated social workers. A score sheet based on the criteria was used to determine the most qualified beneficiaries.
โWe hope that through the ABaKa program, the beneficiaries will continue going to school despite the difficulties they are experiencing. This is one of the Ministryโs social protection programs, which encourages the Bangsamoro youth to become productive members of the societyโ said Minang M. Nagamora, focal person of MSSDโs Family and Community Welfare Program.
The schedule for the succeeding payouts of the ABaKa program for Cotabato City will happen in the next few days. Applicants are advised to keep their mobile lines open as the social workers will contact them ahead of the next payouts.
The Ministry reminds the beneficiaries that their allowances cannot be claimed by a second person to avoid misrepresentation and identity theft.
