MARAWI CITY โ Following the recent bombing incident at Dimaporo Gymnasium, Mindanao State UniversityโMain Campus, Marawi City, earlier today, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), through its Lanao del Sur Provincial Branch Office, extended immediate assistance to the victims.
MSSD fieldworkers personally visited the victims admitted to Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC) and MSU infirmary. Family food packs, hygiene kits, and dignity kits were provided to the patients and their caregivers.
According to MSSD Provincial Social Welfare Officer Yasmira Pangadapun, a total of 43 victims were brought to APMC, and 39 of them have already been discharged. Of the remaining 7 patients, 4 are currently undergoing surgery, while 1 has already completed surgery.
At APMC, two (2) patients from Ozamis City were granted PhP 20,000 each as transportation and medical subsidies. One (1) patient received PhP 10,000 assistance, and two (2) watchers at the APMC operating room were provided with PhP 5,000 each.
In the MSU infirmary, three (3) patients received PhP 5,000 each for transportation, and 14 patients received PhP 2,000 each for their medical needs.
The Ministry also distributed 100 hot meals to the patients at APMC and the MSU infirmary.
MSSD fieldworkers are currently on the ground, providing immediate assistance to the victims.
Tomorrow, MSSD will also visit the funeral parlors of the deceased victims in Iligan City. Each bereaved family will be provided with PhP 50,000 for financial and burial assistance.
