BONGAO, TAWI-TAWI – As the world observes the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 100 children with disabilities individually received PhP 1, 500 worth of financial assistance through the Kalinga para sa may Kapansanan Program of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) earlier today in Bongao, Tawi-tawi.
The said financial assistance provided to the recipients covers the period from July to September 2022.
Kalinga para sa may Kapansanan Program is a landmark program of MSSD that provides comprehensive social protection for indigent differently-abled persons through the provision of PhP 500-monthly subsidy to each beneficiary for their basic and medical needs.
MSSD also provided hygiene kits and wooden toys to the disabled children beneficiaries.
MSSD Minister Raissa Jajurie and Deputy Minister Nur-Ainee Tan Lim graced the activity and personally handed over the said assistance to the beneficiaries.
During the pay-out, Tawi-tawiโs Provincial Social Welfare Officer Belinda Adil, Councilor Nagdir Sangkula, and MSSD personnel were present.
