A total of 210 workers from the informal sector received Cash-for-Work (CFW) Program subsidy worth PhP 2,750 each from the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) in Wao, Lanao del Sur, earlier today, November 10, 2021.
Each recipient rendered ten (10) days of community service.
According to Buhary Macapanton, RSW, MSSD Wao Municipal Social Welfare Officer, the types of community works assigned to the beneficiaries were communal gardening, awareness-raising and information drive, road clearing, soil piling, beautifying the surroundings as well as cleaning the roads and barangay facilities.
Among the CFW Program aid recipients were Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) household beneficiaries, solo parents, out-of-school youth (OSY), indigent students, and Ustadzes who were residents of barangays Manila Group, Amoyong, Kabatangan, Banga, Panang, and Buot.
CFW program is one of the social interventions of MSSD to the welfare of the displaced, disadvantaged, and distressed individuals from the community. The program applies a development approach through the provision of short-term employment that engages in community-building projects and activities in their respective communities or evacuation centers. Recipients are provided with financial aid to meet their requirements for food and other basic necessities in exchange for the work they rendered.
