PAGALUNGAN, MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR โ In its pursuit of providing tailored social protection initiatives to crisis-prone communities in BARMM, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) delivered construction materials here on August 02, 2023, to build Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities at identified sites.
These materials will be utilized for the construction of 15 toilets/latrines, 15 hand wash facilities, and 15 hand pumps in key locations, found in barangays Poblacion, Damalasak, Layog, Kalbugan, Buliok, Inug-ug, and Kudal. Specifically, these facilities will be built in child development centers (CDCs), madrasahs, and other areas that serve as evacuation sites during times of distress.
The construction of WASH facilities is part of the MSSD-BARMM’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Assistance (DRREAm) Program. This aims to provide essential support to displaced populations that are susceptible to illnesses and fatalities resulting from inadequate water supply, poor sanitation, and unhygienic practices.
