In its ongoing commitment to support the holistic development of indigent Bangsamoro daycare learners, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) distributed milk and nutritious food supplies to 100 Childhood Development Centers (CDCs) and Supervised Neighborhood Play (SNP) areas in various municipalities in the BARMM Special Geographic Area from October 24 to 26, 2023.
The dispatched supplies will benefit a total of 3,015 indigent daycare learners enrolled in both the CDCs and SNPs in the area.
MSSD delivered truckloads of food, including rice, eggs, chicken, dried anchovies (dilis), garlic, onions, potatoes, carrots, green mung beans, cooking oil, soy sauce, sugar, salt, noodles, and canned goods to the municipalities of Pikit Cluster A, Pikit Cluster B, Aleosan, Carmen, Midsayap, Kabacan, and Pigcawayan.
Rasul Tino, SFP BARMM Regional Focal Person, stated, “The feeding will commence as soon as the food supplies are delivered.”
This social intervention is under the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP), a nationally-funded program implemented by MSSD in the region, which provides nutritious food to indigent children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old enrolled in CDCs or Supervised Neighborhood Play (SNP) areas, ensuring their access to healthy and balanced meals essential for their growth and development.
