In its continuous support of indigent Bangsamoro daycare learners’ holistic development, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) is currently delivering and distributing nutritious food supplies to different municipalities in the BARMM with Child Development Centers (CDCs).
As of March 5, 2023, the Ministry has delivered truckloads of food consisting of rice, apples, sweet potatoes, chayote, dried anchovies (dilis), noodles, eggs, glutinous rice flour, green mung beans, brown sugar, and cooking oil to municipalities in Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Lanao del Sur B, and Sulu. The remaining provincial offices are also set to distribute the supplies in the coming days to their respective municipalities with CDCs.
This is under the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP), a nationally funded program that provides food for children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old who are enrolled in CDCs or supervised neighborhood play areas. The provision of nutritious food supplies is crucial in ensuring that the indigent daycare learners in the region have access to healthy and balanced meals, which are essential for their growth and development.
Through this effort, the Ministry aims to reach more indigent children in the region and provide them with the necessary support to improve their nutritional status and overall well-being.
