Last week, the Tawi-Tawi Provincial Office of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) resumed the payouts for the beneficiaries of the Kalinga sa May Kapansanan Program.

On 16 December 2021, two hundred thirty-six (236) PWDs from the municipality of Tandubas in Tawi-Tawi received their cash grants.

Two hundred seventy-nine (279) PWD beneficiaries from South Ubian in Tawi-Tawi also received their grants on 18 December 2021.

A total of 2,700 PWD beneficiaries from Tawi-Tawi are slated to receive their grants in the next few days.

The Kalinga sa May Kapansanan Program, which is the first of its kind in the entire country, provides PWDs with monthly financial subsidies of PhP 500 to augment the capacity of indigent persons with severe disabilities to meet their daily subsistence and medical requirements.

The Kalinga sa May Kapansanan is part of the Ministry’s efforts to provide universal social protection for the poor and vulnerable members of the Bangsamoro communities.
