In a timely response to the recent fire incident in Brgy. Poblacion, Bongao, Tawi-tawi, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) dispatched a bulk supply of non-food items (NFIs) and food aid earlier today, on September 11, 2023.
The shipment of NFIs includes 255 sets of hygiene kits, dignity kits, and sleeping kits intended as supplemental relief to the displaced families affected by the aftermath of the fire.
Moreover, MSSD has also delivered an additional 3,636 family food packs, consisting of canned goods and sacks of rice. Of these, 1,850 packs will be distributed directly to the fire victims, while the remaining 1,786 have been prepositioned for future use.
All these essential supplies are scheduled for distribution tomorrow, ensuring that those affected receive the help they need promptly.
This initiative forms part of MSSD’s ongoing response to the nearly 1,000 fire-affected families in the said community.
