In the pursuit to advance proper nutrition and counter malnutrition in the Bangsamoro region, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) Sulu Provincial Office under the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) continued the distribution of rice and locally produced goods to 8, 565 children through dry ration in the municipalities of Sulu on February 8 to 15, 2022.
During the distribution, among the total number of children recipients, 1, 282 from Jolo, 967 were from Siasi, 579 were from Panamao, 377 were from Panglima Estino, 431 were from Omar, 308 were from Kalingalan Caluang, 216 were from sa Luuk, 185 from Banguingui, 779 from Parang, 469 from Pangutaran, 726 from Talipao, 769 from Indanan, 189 from Hadji Panglima Tahil, 819 from Patikul and 469 from Lugus.
Each recipient were given 25 kilos of rice, 1.5 kilo of dilis, 750 grams of munggo or mung beans, and fruits. The Child Development Workers (CDWs) along with the parents personally received the goods for the feeding program.
MSSD Deputy Minister Arced Sappayani led and supervised the field operation and house-to-house distribution to ensure the timely and quality dispatch of goods per municipality.
According to SFP Regional Focal Person Rasul Tino, MSSD Sulu Provincial Office targets to reach 10, 543 children in the province.

SFP is a nationally-funded social protection program implemented by MSSD in BARMM which aims to contribute to Early Childhood Care Development (ECCD) through provision and augmentation of nutritious meals to children in Supervised Neighborhood Play (SNP), those who are enrolled in Child Development Centers (CDCs), and those who are not enrolled in the pre-schools of the Department of Education (DepEd) but enrolled in CDCs within 120 days.
