COTABATO CITY โ MSSD conducted a series of Basic Management Training and Women Economic Empowerment to 24 beneficiaries from Women’s Welfare Program (WWP) on July 26-28, 2022 at Al-Nor Hotel and Convention Center.
This activity is under the Bangsamoro Sagip Kabuhayan (BSK) program of the Ministry which aims to provide training and business capital to qualified beneficiaries in BARMM region.
The first batch of beneficiaries is comprised of women who are survivors of gender-based violence, distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and indigent residents of this city.
During the first day of training on July 26, the beneficiaries learned about the purpose of WWP, their Constitutional and economic rights, and their roles in nation-building.
On the second day of training, they have participated in the series of “Pagnenegosyo” lectures and workshops, which aim to capacitate them with business management skills.
On the third and last day of training, the Ministry gave them a comprehensive business management guide, which tackles the specific requirements in building a business, income generation, types of business ownership, and saving habits. Along with the certificate that they will receive at the end of the program, they are also eligible to a PhP 15,000-business capital under the program.
According to Ms. Faida M. Ensanah, the WWP Focal Person, a total of 119 target women beneficiaries are expected to participate in the same program by September 2022.
