MAIMBUNG, SULU โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) celebrated National Children’s Month with an outreach program for 100 Badjao children in Maimbung, Sulu on November 11, 2023.
MSSD provided T-shirts, customized backpacks, school supplies, tumblers, umbrellas, and wooden toys to bring joy and essential services to children at the grassroots level.
Representatives from partner agencies, including UNHCR, UNICEF, BYC, and 1st RMFC RMFB BASULTA, joined in the distribution of kits.
In her speech, Hadja Imelda Kangiluhan, MSSD Suluโs Provincial Social Welfare Officer, emphasized the importance of ensuring children receive the necessary benefits and services.
The outreach activity included parlor games like a sack race, a trip to Jerusalem, straw planting, a stop dance, and a dance contest. The event concluded with awarding prizes and distributing meals for the children and their families.
