LANAO DEL SUR โ In celebration of National Childrenโs Month, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) conducted an outreach activity for 50 indigent children in Brgy. Diampaca,Pagayawan, Lanao del Sur, and organized an outreach program on November 22, 2023.
Each child participant received a lunch meal, T-shirt, and school supplies, including a backpack, a notebook, crayons, a pencil, a pen, scissors, colored paper, a drawing book, an eraser, and a sharpener from MSSD.
Meanwhile, MSSD, in partnership with BRAC, launched the first Play Lab Model Center in Lanao del Sur. The Play Lab Center will use a unique curriculum and have both indoor and outdoor facilities that will provide young learners with a conducive learning environment, further honing their knowledge and skills while enjoying themselves.
During the activity, the children showcased their different talents and recited the basic rights of children. Some highlights also included magic and bubble shows, which the children enjoyed, along with their parents.
Present during the outreach activity was MSSD Lanao del Sur B Provincial Social Welfare Officer Hadja Linang M. Pangkat, RSW, BRAC Country Director Jo Villanueva, and various personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), BRAC, MSSD municipal social welfare office, barangay, and municipal local government unit.
