COTABATO CITY – As part of its continued support for the holistic development of indigent children in the Bangsamoro region, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) delivered various food items, including milk, to 36 barangays here and 70 Child Development Centers (CDCs) and Supervised Neighborhood Play (SNP) areas in Barangay Rosary Heights VII on 7th November 2023.
A total of 3,116 daycare learners enrolled in CDCs and SNPs will benefit from the food provision, in collaboration with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and Department of Social Welfare and Development XII (DSWD 12).
Mr. Rasul Tino, the regional focal person of the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) in BARMM, said, โAfter the delivery, the feeding program immediately commenced. The children were provided with milk, partnered with bread, and given a hot meal from DSWD 12.”
MSSD distributed pasteurized milk while DSWD XII provided assorted food items including rice, frozen chicken, eggs, dried anchovies (dilis), garlic, onion, potato, carrots, green mung beans, tuna flakes in oil, corned beef, cooking oil, soy sauce, sugar, salt, noodles, and bread.
SFP is a nationally-funded program implemented by MSSD in the region that provides nutritious food to indigent children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old enrolled in CDCs and SNPs, ensuring their access to healthy and balanced meals essential for their growth and development.
