On 7 April 2022, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Sulu Chapter, distributed relief goods for 30 Bajau families composed of 93 individuals who arrived in Sulu.
The 30 families received family food packs (25 kg rice and 5 cans of sardines), dignity and protection kits (3 packs sanitary napkin; 12 pcs underwear for women, men, girls and boys; 2 pcs whistle; and 1 solar lamp), and sleeping kits (1 pc king size plastic mat, 1 pc mosquito net, and 5 pcs malong) from MSSD.
The goods were disbursed by the Philippine Red Cross – Sulu Chapter, on behalf of MSSD, in compliance with Comelecโs prohibition against the release, disbursement or expenditure of public funds during the election period.
The Bajau families arrived in Sulu from Manila on 7 April 2022 at 7:00 am.
