The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) and the BARMM Marawi Rehabilitation Program continued the distribution of the grants under its various programs for the internally-displaced persons (IDPs) from the 2017 Marawi Siege.
Livelihood assistance grants equivalent to PhP 15,000 each, under the 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗽 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 (𝗕𝗦𝗞), were handed out to 1,639 beneficiaries on 6-7 June 2022. MSSD and MRP are targeting to reach a total of 7,000 BSK beneficiaries.
The BSK grants are intended to improve access to capital of thee Marawi IDPs. Funds will be used for the economic recovery and rehabilitation of poor or low-income households. It may also be used as as a start-up capital for viable micro-enterprises.
On 7 June 2022, the financial assistance, equivalent to PhP 5,000 each, for the 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗗𝗣𝘀. A total of 783 non-Kathanor beneficiaries have received their grants today.
These IDPs have been excluded from the Task Force Bangon Marawi’s (TFBM) Kathanor biometric profiling. These include families who rented houses or business stalls in the 24 most affected barangays.
MSSD and BARMM’s MRP shall continue to serve the Marawi IDPs, and support their full recovery and rehabilitation.
