COTABATO CITY โ The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII handed over the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) data to Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) during the ceremony conducted on June 08, 2023 at the Cotabato City Hall.
The transferred data included vital information such as beneficiary lists, the Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) Information System, project baselines, monitoring databases, tools, proposals, referrals, and assessment reports.
This data sharing initiative aligns with the provisions of Republic Act 11054, also known as the Organic Law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. It necessitates the data transfer from DSWD FO-XII to MSSD-BARMM, as the latter is no longer a field office of the DSWD. To formalize the transfer, a memorandum of agreement will be signed between MSSD and DSWD.
MSSD-BARMM Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie emphasized the importance of the SLP in addressing the needs of impoverished and vulnerable communities. She stated, “Both MSSD and DSWD believe that SLP is a good strategy to respond to the needs of poor and vulnerable communities. Also, we want to emphasize the word ‘sustainable’ in the program because it means that beneficiaries have the responsibility to utilize grants for activities that will sustain their livelihood.”
Key officials present during the ceremony included Guialil M. Pandi (Supervising Social Welfare Officer and Coordinator for Cotabato City Operation), Edgar R. Guera (Regional Program Coordinator), Rawiya B. Usman (SLP Training Officer of MSSD), Loreto V. Cabaya Jr. (Regional Director, DSWD-XII), Miriam T. Teves (Regional Coach Monitor), Guianodin D. Abdullah (OSEC-OCM), and concerned MSSD workers.
The Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) is one of the major nationally funded programs implemented by MSSD-BARMM, alongside the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), Social Pension Program (SocPen), and Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP). Through data sharing and collaboration, MSSD-BARMM and DSWD aim to enhance the effectiveness and impact of the program, ultimately improving the lives of individuals and communities in the Bangsamoro region.
