To foster the welfare and equal access to opportunities of persons with disabilities (PWDs) across the Bangsamoro region, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD)
convened ministries and agencies for a consultative meeting on the draft bill of Magna Carta for PWDs on 07 March 2022 in Cotabato City.

Through MSSD’s Older Persons and Persons with Disability Program (OPPWDP) in partnership with The Asia Foundation (TAF) and Mindanao Organization for Social Economic Progress (MOSEP), the consultative meeting aims to institutionalize responsive and sustainable programs and services for the PWD sector.

MSSD Minister Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie pointed out the importance of seeking constructive feedback among different ministries and agencies “to hear your thoughts on the provisions of the draft bill for the development of strong policy recommendations”.

Also present in the meeting are Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), Ministry of Finance and Budget Management (MFBM), Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD), Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS), Ministry of Trade, Investment, and Tourism (MTIT), National Nutrition Council (NCC), Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission (BHRC), Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC), and Bangsamoro Women’s Commission (BWC).
