𝗠𝗦𝗦𝗗, 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗠 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

In conjunction with the inauguration of the office of the new administration of Cotabato City, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) along with other ministries of the Bangsamoro Government officially turned over the supervision and implementation of some programs and services to the city local government unit, today, 30 June 2022 at the People’s Palace, Cotabato City.

Among its flagship social protection programs being turned over by MSSD are the 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗽 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 (𝗕𝗦𝗞), a livelihood intervention for microentrepreneurs, 𝗞𝘂𝗽𝗸𝗼𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, a financial assistance program for indigent orphaned children, 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗼: 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗻𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 (𝗔𝗕𝗞) 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, an educational assistance program for qualified children belonging to underprivileged households, 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, a landmark financial assistance program for assessed indigent Persons With Disability (PWDs), and 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗕-𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦) 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, a medical assistance program for indigent patients.

MSSD’s Child and Youth Welfare Program (CYWP) also handed over outdoor play equipment, the Older Persons and Persons With Disability Program (OPPWDP) provided an assistive device to a PWD client, and the Emergency Assistance Program (EAP) gave welfare assistance to a female client belonging to Women in Especially Difficult Situations (WEDCs).

Aside from the newly-elected city officials, the ceremonial turn-over and inauguration were also graced by some of BARMM’s key officials such as Senior Minister Abdulfarouf Macacua, Interior and Local Government Minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo, Labor and Employment Minister Muslimen Sema, Transportation and Communications Minister Dickson Hermoso, and other heads of BARMM offices.

In her speech, MSSD Minister Raissa Jajurie mentioned that she will be signing a joint commitment to provide for the welfare of the residents of Cotabato City with Mayor-elect Mohammad Ali “Bruce” Matabalao.

“𝗠𝗮𝗴𝘁𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗦𝗦𝗗 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗼𝗱. 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗦𝗦𝗗 𝗽𝗼 𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗸𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘀𝘆𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀. 𝗬𝘂𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗜𝗻𝗼-𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘀𝘆𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗦𝗦𝗗 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗮-𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗮 𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗽𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘀,” said Minister Jajurie.

For more than three years, after Cotabato City became officially part of the BARMM’s jurisdiction upon gaining the majority vote during the 2019 plebiscite, this ceremonial turn-over officially marks the day when the Bangsamoro Government can finally look forward to the smooth and speedy implementation of its programs, projects, and services intended for the residents of the city.
