SITANGKAI, TAWI-TAWI โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) through its Bangsamoro Sagip Kabuhayan (BSK) Program trained 17 indigent youth on basic livelihood skills training and provided them seed capital fund worth Php 15,000 each on October 11-15, 2021 at the hall of Brgy. Imam Sapie, Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi.
The youth recipients were out-of-school youth (OSY) and some indigent students.
MSSD Tawi-tawi Provincial Branch Office also partnered with DZAJ Tawi-tawi Technological Institute Inc. for the technical training on assembling and disassembling motor engines wherein participants did actual demonstration at the end of the session. There were also lectures about values formation, financial literacy, and basic bookkeeping.
Prior to the training and payout, qualified BSK youth beneficiaries had undergone rigorous assessment, deliberation, and validation process lodged through the Children and Youth Welfare Program (CYWP) of MSSD.
โAfter the training, we will conduct visitation and monitoring of the youth beneficiaries to ensure the sustainability and continuity of the program. We also refer them to other partner agencies for other opportunities,โ said Airyn Shariff, Municipal Social Welfare Officer of Sitangkai.
The local government unit also provided logistical support in the five-day training.
