COTABATO CITY โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) started the distribution of educational assistance to qualified indigent elementary students under the Angat Bangsamoro: Kabataan tungo sa Karunungan (ABaKa) Program earlier today, on November 6, 2023, at the MSSD Regional Office in the Bangsamoro Government Center.
The payout aims to benefit a total of 553 indigent elementary students in the city, who will receive a one-time financial assistance of PhP 2,000 each upon qualifying for the program. MSSD will cater to only 50 beneficiaries per day.
Before the payout, all ABaKa applicantsโ documents have undergone validation and evaluation by the designated social workers. A scoring sheet based on specific criteria was used to determine the most qualified beneficiaries.
Marjal Abdullah, one of the beneficiaries from the city, expressed his gratitude, stating, โShukran sa MSSD dahil nabigyan ako ng tulong para sa pag-aaral, gagamitin ko ito sa pag-aaral, at ibibili ko ito ng mga gamit gaya ng sapatos, at mga notebooks.โ
(Thank you to MSSD because I was given assistance for my studies. I will use it for studying and buying things like shoes and notebooks.)
The schedule for the subsequent payouts of the ABaKa program for Cotabato City will occur in the next few days. Qualified applicants are advised to keep their mobile lines open as social workers will contact them before the next payout.
The Ministry reminds the beneficiaries that their allowances cannot be claimed by a second person to prevent misrepresentation and identity theft.
