To ensure that the most marginalized sectors are reached especially those in the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA) in the Bangsamoro region, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) through its Sulu provincial office checked the condition of five (5) orphaned children in Sitio Bullas, Barangay Poblacion, Maimbung, Sulu on 16 November 2021.
The orphans recently lost their mother, their remaining parent, after being fatherless for more than a year. They are now under the custody of their maternal grandmother, the sole caretaker.
The MSSD team provided the orphaned children rice assistance and welfare goods. Financial assistance will also be provided under the Bangsamoro Critical Assistance for Indigents in Response to Emergency Situations (B-CARES) Program of the ministry.
