KUMALARANG, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), through its Disaster Response and Management Division (DRMD), conducted relief distribution to 598 Bangsamoro families affected by the recent flood in Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.
The distribution took place at the covered court in Kumalarang on June 2, 2023. The initiative aimed to provide emergency assistance to the flood-affected families, ensuring they have access to essential food supplies after the calamity.
Each family received a relief package comprising 25 kilogram-rice, canned goods, and instant coffee. The provision of these items aimed to alleviate the immediate food needs of the affected families and support them during the recovery period.
This is through the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including the provincial government of Zamboanga Del Sur, Bangsamoro Provincial Consultative Council, 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion, and community volunteers,
Through initiatives like this, the Ministry aims to alleviate the difficulties faced by those in distress and contribute to their recovery. The MSSD’s Disaster Response and Management Division remains dedicated to providing timely assistance and support to communities affected by disasters, working hand in hand with various stakeholders to ensure the well-being and resilience of the Bangsamoro people.
