MARAWI CITY โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) conducted relief distribution to the families affected by the recent fire incident in Area 6, Sagonsongan.
On June 12, 2023, the MSSD, led by Disaster Response and Management Division (DRMD) Chief Hasim Guiamil, provided 25 kilogram-rice, family food packs, sleeping kits, dignity kits, and hygiene kits to the 17 fire-affected families. The Ministry also provided burial assistance to the family of one casualty who lost their life due to suffocation during the fire.
After assessment, it was determined that nine (9) houses were completely damaged, while eight (8) houses suffered partial damage in the June 10 fire.
The intervention aimed to provide immediate support and help alleviate the challenges faced by the affected families. As the recovery process begins, MSSD remains committed to continuing its support and assistance to the affected households.
