SIASI, SULU – Forty-five (45) Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Child Development Workers (CDWs), and other barangay workers individually received PhP 2,750 from the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) Sulu Provincial Office during the Cash for Work (CFW) Payout in Siasi, Sulu on May 16 โ 17, 2022.
The recipients rendered service in assisting the rural health units and Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs) during the vaccination roll-outs in the province.
Aside from the CFW incentives, all the recipients received 10 kilos of rice from the ministry.
Meanwhile, on May 12, another 26 Indigenous Peoples (IPs), indigent household heads, and barangay community volunteers in the Municipality of Hadji Panglima Tahil also received similar CFW incentives from the MSSD Sulu Provincial Office.
There will be continuous coordination with the said beneficiaries of CFW as part of their empowerment in becoming more responsive and proactive members of their communities.
The CFW program applies a development approach by providing short-term employment to the displaced, disadvantaged, and distressed individuals from the community. Recipients are provided with financial aid to meet their requirements for food and other basic necessities in exchange for the work they rendered.
