COTABATO CITY โ In preparation for the incoming school year, MSSD distributed Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) outdoor play equipment and learning materials to 10 Child Development Centers (CDCs) today, 29 July 2022, at the city hall here.
A total of 29 outdoor play facilities composed of bicycles, seesaw, slide and swing; and 10 boxes of learning materials composed of manipulative toys, activity books, board books, posters, and activity materials were turned over to the representatives of each CDC.
The assessed CDCs, identified by the Office on Social Welfare and Development Services (OSWDS), cater to 3-4 year-old children, who are learning through playing educational games that stimulate their creative and critical thinking skills.
The provision of ECCD facilities and materials is under the Children and Youth Welfare Program (CYWP) of the Ministry, which seeks to provide services and activities designed for the care, protection, participation, and rehabilitation of children and youth in difficult situations. This is also to ensure their social adjustment, total growth, and development.
Out of 78, MSSD is already able to provide ECCD play equipment and learning materials to 34 CDCs across Cotabato City.
