SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA โ As part of BARMMโs 4th Founding Anniversary, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) conducted an outreach program on 25 January 2023 for the Aromanen Manuvu indigenous community, who reside in areas of Carmen and Kabacan towns.
A total of 30 residents from Barangay Kitulaan in Carmen and 50 from barangays Tamped and Simbuhay in Kabacan joined the program, which included a range of fun activities, as well as the distribution of essential relief goods such as food packs and hygiene kits. Additionally, social workers provided Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) sessions to help improve the overall well-being of the participants.
Deseret Medical Hospital also offered free health check-ups and provided necessary medicines to the residents.
MSSD-BARMM Minister Raissa H. Jajurie delivered a message, expressing appreciation for the residents’ continuous support and emphasized that this outreach program is a way for the Government of the Day to to reach out to and support the marginalized communities.
The program was able to provide much-needed assistance and support to the Aromanen Manuvu IPs, while also highlighting the BARMM government’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens, particularly those in remote and under-served areas.
