LANAO DEL SUR – The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) distributed cash assistance and assistive devices to indigent persons with disability (PWDs) on December 5, 2023, at Manacab gymnasium in Buadiposo Buntong, Lanao del Sur.

As of December 9, a total of 220 PWDs in the municipality individually received PhP 1,500 which covers their monthly subsidies for three (3) months. This intervention is under MSSD’s Kalinga para sa may Kapansanan Program which provides PhP 500 monthly assistance to qualified indigent PWDs in support of their basic needs and medicines.

Meanwhile, six (6) PWDs also received assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, single canes, and quad canes through home visitation upon thorough assessment and case management of field social workers.

The distribution of cash assistance and assistive devices will continue in the following days to cater to all indigent PWDs.

Present during the distribution were Local Chief Executive Noron G. Dadayan, MSSD Municipal Links (MLs), Social Work Assistants (SWAs), Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, barangay officials, para-social workers (PSWs), and interns.
