COTABATO CITY— A total of 506 indigent orphans in Cotabato City received cash subsidies from the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) during the Kupkop Program payout held at the People’s Palace from December 20 to 22, 2023.

Each orphaned child beneficiary received Php 5,000 as one-time financial assistance to support their daily living requirements.

“The goal of this payout is to support the orphaned children with their basic needs, such as education, health, and nutrition,” stated Arbainie Guiabar, MSSD Child and Youth Welfare Program Focal Person.

Fattiha Rizz N. Menang, a 16-year-old resident of Brgy. RH XI and one of the recipients, expressed her gratitude: “I am thankful for the Kupkop Program because it greatly helps us, indigent orphans, especially with our school expenses.”

Present during the event were Guialil Pandi, MSSD Social Welfare Officer IV; Asrap R. Abubakar, OIC – City Social Welfare and Development Officer (CSWDO); Atty. Nes Hashim Lidasan, representative of the City Mayor’s Office; Zainudin Samid, Child Welfare Section’s head, and other personnel from the Ministry and the city local government unit.
