MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE – The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) led an outreach program for 100 orphaned children and Madrasah students in Brgy. Gang, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte, on November 24, 2023. The activity was conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA).
The said orphaned children are currently sheltered in Markadz Aytam and Markadz Muhsinin.
During the program, MSSD provided them with backpacks and school supplies, including a notebook, crayons, a pencil, a pen, scissors, colored paper, a drawing book, an eraser, a sharpener, tumblers, and umbrellas. MOST and BPDA also provided hygiene kits and meals to the children.
Other highlights during the activity included magic shows and bubble shows that entertained the children.
This yearโs celebration focuses on children’s welfare, health, and rights to address the general wellbeing of the Bangsamoro children.
Also present during the outreach activity were Sultan Kudarat Municipal Social Welfare Officer (MSWO) Fauziah Ibrahim-Mocsin, RSW, representatives from the municipal police station, barangay and municipal local government units, orphanage centers, and MSSD municipal field office.
