MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE – A total of 1,775 vulnerable elderly individuals received PHP 3,000 each during the two-day payout conducted by the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) under the Social Pension Program for Indigent Senior Citizens. The payout took place at the covered court in Brgy. Lipawan, Barira, Maguindanao del Norte from January 11 to 12, 2024.

The provided amount of PHP 3,000 per beneficiary covered their PHP 500 monthly subsidy for six (6) months, intended to support them in their medicines and other daily needs.

MSSD’s Municipal Social Welfare Office in Barira facilitated the distribution of cash assistance, reaching all indigent elderly beneficiaries in the area, including those who are bedridden.

The activity was a collaboration with the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) and the local government unit.

MSSD fieldworkers, such as Project Development Officers (PDOs), Municipal Links (MLs), Social Welfare Assistants (SWAs), and para-social workers, also assisted in the payout.
