Patikul, SULU – To equip field workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide learning and guidance for children aged 0-4 years old and further promote their holistic development, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), through its Sulu provincial office, conducted a four-day training here on early childhood care from 07 to 10 January 2024.

Fifty-seven daycare workers and 19 municipal social welfare officers were taught of the importance of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) as well as additional skills in facilitating learning and handling daycare children inside the classroom.

Arbaine Guiabar, the focal of MSSD’s Children and Youth Welfare Program, emphasized during her lecture that the capacity development training and the ECCD program “will contribute to your skills and equip you with knowledge on interventions and handling children.”

The MSSD is also committed to provide support to its field workers helpful for the enhancement of their knowledge and skills necessary to effectively carry out their duties.
