Yesterday, May 9, 2023, a total of 499 indigent persons with disabilities (PWDs) residing in Wao, Lanao del Sur, were granted financial assistance worth Php 1,500 each. This assistance covers the first quarter of their Php 500 monthly subsidy for this year.
The distribution of the financial aid is implemented under the Kalinga para sa may Kapansanan Program, a landmark social protection program pioneered by MSSD that aims to uplift the living conditions of indigent PWDs through the provision of monthly financial support upon assessment and validation administered by field social workers.
The program’s assistance to the PWDs reflects one of the Bangsamoro Government’s sincere efforts through MSSD to support and promote the rights and welfare of vulnerable PWDs across the Bangsamoro region.
Meanwhile, in the coming days, MSSD will also distribute monthly rice subsidies to the household beneficiaries of the Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro Program in the municipality, further contributing to improving the socio-economic conditions of vulnerable families in the area.
