PIKIT, BARMM SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA โ As the simultaneous ongoing activities in line with the week-long celebration of the 44th National Disability, Prevention, and Rehabilitation (NDPR) continues, MSSD extended social interventions to indigent persons with disability (PWDs) during the opening ceremony at the covered court of Barangay Batulawan, earlier today, 20 July 2022.
Among the highlights of the program include the distribution of assistive devices to nine (9) case-managed PWD clients, the provision of financial subsidies, and the ceremonial launching of the official PWD identification cards (IDs) for assessed clients.

Starting today, all PWDs in the BARMM SGA will receive their PWD IDs, which they can use to avail the privileges and benefits that they are entitled to. Similar to the senior citizen ID and solo parent ID, the PWD ID can also be presented by the beneficiaries to avail the 20% discount for medicine and transportation; and a 5% discount for grocery and restaurants.
Meanwhile, on this day also, a total of 513 qualified PWDs all over the BARMM SGA received financial subsidies under the Kalinga Para sa May Kapansanan Program wherein 167 were from Midsayap, 163 were from Pikit, 65 from Carmen, 60 from Kabacan, and 58 from Pigcawayan
Kalinga Para sa May Kapansanan Program is a landmark program of the Ministry which seeks to improve the living condition of eligible persons with severe disabilities and reduce the negative impact of disability on poor and low-income households. Each qualified beneficiary is entitled to a PHP 500 monthly assistance under this program, which they can use in buying their medicine and daily necessities.
Another 1, 760 indigent PWD clients will also receive similar financial assistance in the other BARMM SGA clusters tomorrow, 21 July 2022. There are also 22 remaining assistive devices which will also be distributed to eligible beneficiaries.
The PWDs are among the most vulnerable sectors in BARMM. Thus, in partnership with MOSEP, Inc. and The Asia Foundation, MSSD Minister Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie has drafted a bill on Magna Carta for PWDs, which is now on the stage of consultation with the other ministries and provincial offices. Once it becomes a law, the indigent PWDs in BARMM will be able to benefit from all the possible assistance that they can avail themselves of to enhance the quality of their lives.
