UPI, MAGUINDANAO โ Earlier today, September 27, 2022, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) along with UNICEF Philippines conducted joint monitoring of two (2) Child Development Centers (CDCs) in the barangays of Borongotan and Kinitaan, Upi, Maguindanao to ensure observance of health and safety protocols.
Among the monitored learners, 54 were enrolled in Brgy. Borongotanโs CDC while 27 were in Brgy. Kinitaanโs CDC.
Classes in the said CDCs are divided into two sets such as Set A for learners attending classes on Mondays and Tuesdays and Set B for the other learners attending classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
On Fridays, classes are suspended wherein the assigned Child Development Workers (CDWs) will prepare weekly activities for the learners. Daily classes are also divided in morning and afternoon sessions.
Present during the monitoring activity were personnel under MSSDโs Child and Youth Welfare Program (CYWP) and Radoslaw (Radek) Rzehak, Chief of UNICEF Mindanao Field Office.
For the CDCs in the other municipalities of the region, the Municipal Social Welfare Officers (MSWOs) will also conduct similar monitoring interventions.
