COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Government, through the lead of MSSD, craft and finalize the guidelines for the safe reopening and operation of Early Childhood Education (ECE) centers amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), with support of United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF Philippines) on 12 September 2022.
This set of guidelines will be implemented in Child Development Centers (CDCs), Supervised Neighborhood Playgroups (SNPs), Tahderiyyah Canters, and Private Early Learning Centers (PELCs) to provide the Child Development Workers (CDWs), parents, and local government units a guidance on the standards and mechanisms for the safe reopening of respective learning centers. This is also to ensure that children learn in a safe and conducive environment.
“The future of our children starts with their quality education in CDCs. This is where they pick up the necessary “foundational skills” that will help them excel in more advanced levels of their education and even until their adulthood” said Minister Raissa H. Jajurie.
Aside from MSSD, the Inter-agency Memorandum Circular No. 1, series 2022 dated 9 September 202 is signed by BARMM Senior Minister Abdulraof Macacua, Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE), Ministry of Health (MOH), and Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG).
