MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE โ The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), through its Maguindanao Provincial Office, held an outreach activity for 137 daycare children as the culmination program for this yearโs National Childrenโs Month earlier today, November 30, 2023, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
The participating children were from the 36 municipalities of Maguindanao del Norte and Maguindanao del Sur.
Each of them received a kit containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, alcohol, and a face towel. They were also given tumblers, umbrellas, and meals.
UNICEF also distributed learning-from-home kits containing toys, board games, and school supplies to support their continued learning.
Some highlights of the program included talent showcases and production numbers performed by the children participants. There were also free rides, a magic show, a bubble show, and face painting, which added to the excitement of the children.
In her message, Children and Youth Welfare Program (CYWP) Focal Person Arbaine Guiabar addressed and emphasized the importance of inclusivity and empowerment for the welfare of children. She advocated for nurturing a conducive environment for their growth and development.
“We need to support the development of our children, extending to them quality services, promoting their rights, and protecting their welfare,” Guiabar stated.
The event was graced by MSSD personnel and representatives from partner agencies, including the Provincial Local Government Unit of Maguindanao del Norte, UNICEF, the Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC), and the Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (RJJWC).
