LANAO DEL SUR – The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of the Islamic Municipality of Tamparan, Lanao del Sur, organized a Youth General Assembly on November 22, 2023, at the municipal gymnasium in Brgy. Poblacion I.
A total of 344 youths from Datu Palawan Disomimba Memorial National High School and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) participated in the event.
During the activity, a series of topics about the anti-drug campaign and leadership were discussed. Highlights also included team-building activities and role-plays addressing the negative impact of drugs, family dynamics, children in conflict with the law, and early pregnancy.
This joint initiative of MSSD’s Tamparan Municipal Social Welfare Office and the Tamparan LGU aims to empower the youth, increase their awareness about social issues, reduce violence, and promote value formation among youth in the area.
Present during the activity were Municipal Social Welfare Officer Carimah T. Campong, RSW, Municipal Mayor Mohammad Juhar D. Disomimba, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Datu Palawan Disomimba Memorial National High School, MSSD municipal office, LGU, religious Islamic group, and interns from Jamiatul Philippine Al-Islamia, Lanao Central College Inc., and IQRA.
