BASILAN – The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) organized an outreach program for 100 Badjao children in Tabuan-Lasa, Basilan, in commemoration of National Children’s Month on November 13, 2023. MSSD distributed T-shirts and customized backpacks filled with school supplies, tumblers, umbrellas, and toys.
This outreach program aimed to promote the rights and welfare of children in the province, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that all children have equal access to government services and quality support.
The event was also graced by representatives from different partner agencies, including UNHCR, UNICEF, and Tabuan-Lasa LGU, who actively participated in the kit distribution.
“We are committed to ensuring that all children have access to their rights and are able to reach their full potential, and we hope that this will help us raise awareness of the importance of child rights and encourage everyone to take action to protect and promote them,” said MSSD Child and Youth Welfare Program Focal, Arbaine Guiabar.
Before the event ended, MSSD also facilitated parlor games and awarded prizes to children.
