At least 457 members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Turtle Islands, Tawi-Tawi received their Land Bank cash cards on 27 March 2022.
This is part of MSSD’s transition to the full use of cash cards for all 4Ps households.
Turtle Islands is located in the southernmost tip of the Philippine Archipelago. It is located 198.62 kilometers away from Tawi-Tawi’s provincial capital of Bongao, and 40 kilometers north of Sandakan in Sabah.
Access to the Turtle Islands is difficult, as there are no regular means of transportation to the area.
MSSD’s 4Ps workers and Land Bank employees traveled for more than 19 hours to reach the remote municipality.
